Hey there! It’s been a while since I last shared some cards here on the blog, but today I’m bringing them back 😉 Scrapbook.com* was so kind to send me a big box of Tonic Studios Nuvo products that was filled with lots of goodies from the new Dream in Colour collection. When I unpacked the box I couldn’t stop swooning over the beautiful colours!
I’m normally not a very big fan of purple, but together with this beautiful aqua and the pinks and holographic foil, it looks so good! Actually, my projects for today ended up being very heavy on the purple which I didn’t expect at all!
I tried almost all of the things that were in the box and I had so much fun! My absolute favorite product of them all are the new Nuvo Dream Drops, closely followed by the Holo Waves Mirror Cardstock and the Shimmer powder. Seriously, I now need allll the colors of this Shimmer powder! And I am glad I already have all the colors of the Dream Drops because if not, I would need to get these, too. The iridescent shine of these is absolutely stunning! I really hope Nuvo will bring out more colors of these.
But let’s get to the projects! As I said, I have some cards for today. All of the cards started with a white side-folding card base in A2. I tried a few different techniques on them, so let’s have a closer look.
Die-cut Backgrounds
On three of the cards I used my Hero Arts Butterfly Confetti die and the Window On Love Confetti die (one of my favorites!) to create a background with the specialty papers in the Dream in Colour collection. The sentiments were all cut with Hero Arts dies (hello, happy, thanks and there is also one that says birthday). I love the font and the size is perfect for cards!
The “hello” on the Butterfly shaker card was die cut from regular white cardstock and then heat embossed with the Crushed Mulberry embossing powder. It has a very subtle satin shine to it, which looks gorgeous! I filled the shaker with a few different kinds of confetti and sequins from the collection.
By the way, if you want to find out which products I used exactly on which card, hop on over to the post in my Scrapbook.com gallery, where I linked every single item to each card.
Stenciled Background
For the other three cards I used the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in various colors and two different stencils to create a background for my sentiments. I used Triple Berry to cover the entire card with the Linking Rings stencil, Pure Platinum for a partially stenciled background and Mother of Pearl for a much smaller and more intricate stencil pattern.
On all cards I used the gorgeous Nuvo Dream Drops to add some accents here and there, as well as some of the sequins and gems from Nuvo. My favorite are the Crystal Gems because they just fit any kind of color scheme!
As I said, I really had a lot of fun working with these products! A big thank you to Scrapbook.com for sending these goodies over! 🙂 I hope you feel inspired by these cards! Make sure to check out the new Dream in Colour collection because what I’ve shown you here is just a small part of it.
Thanks a lot for stopping by! I hope you have a great day 🙂
