April 2019 Washi Tape Bundle
You are Family – Layout
My first project that I created with two of the beautiful washi tapes (the Misty Meadows and Botanical Rhapsody tapes) is the layout below. I used it to document one of my favorite recent photos of my dog and I.
The layout came together rather quickly, although I will admit that cutting out all of the flowers and leaves was a bit time-consuming. But I did it on the couch while watching a movie, so it wasn’t that bad 😉
First I stuck pieces of the washi tape to scraps of white cardstock that I collect in a little pouch, and then used my favorite scissors to cut all of them out. That way you can later use the pieces like die cuts and move them around.
I adhered all of the flowers and leaves using different kinds of adhesive to achieve different levels of height and dimension. Some I glued flat to the page while I layered others on top using foam adhesive.
For the title I used the “family” sticker from this Thickers set and mixed it with these small Alpha Stickers. I also scattered some Altenew Enamel Dots (in Red Cosmos and Green Fields) and epoxy heart stickers from my stash around.
The butterflies were cut from a paper scrap I had left of an older Maggie Holmes paper, but I think they work perfectly with the Altenew washi tapes!
I love how this layout came together and I think the time I spent on fussy cutting all those leaves and flowers was absolutely worth it. What do you think?
Quick and Easy Cards
For these three cards I used the same two washi tapes again, so let’s have a closer look at the tapes first:
Aren’t they just stunning? The Botanical Rhapsody tape (left) is 7″ wide and filled with lots of flowers and leaves in different sizes. Misty Meadows (right) has this beautiful watercolor look and comes with gold foiling!
For the three cards I always used the same “recipe”: I adhered the Misty Meadows tape to my white side-folding card base to create a background. Then I created a cluster of flowers and leaves I had cut from Botanical Rhapsody and added a sentiment sticker (from my stash). The final touch were some gold splatters.
I just varied the amount of washi I used for the background and the flowers in the clusters. Those cards are super easy to make but I think they are stunning!
I hope you enjoyed these projects that I created with the new Altenew Washi Tapes! Unfortunately, I don’t have a project to share with the new Embossing Paste yet. But let me tell you: the paste is so good! It’s the fluffiest and creamiest paste I’ve ever used and there’s a ton of things you can do with it! Now it’s time to hop on over to the talented Norine, for more inspiration!
