Altenew October 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hey everyone and welcome to the Altenew* October 2019 release blog hop! This release features some really fun stamps, dies and stencils. And the best thing: there are lots of gorgeous new floral sets!! Have a look for yourself:
You should have arrived here from Svitlana’s blog. You can also find the full blog hop list over on the Altenew card blog.
Of course I just had to use some of the new floral stamps for my projects. I can’t ever have enough florals 😉 For my first card I picked the Grateful Heart set with the coordinating dies.
Grateful Heart Card
I stamped both floral images and the leaves twice so I could create a large cluster on my card. To add some interest to the background, I die cut a panel of white cardstock with the Candy Cane Cover Die and adhered it to the card base.
For the sentiment I used the Tall Alpha Die Set to cut the word hello. I cut it once from Welsh Gold Glitter Card and twice from white cardstock and then stacked the letters. That way they stand out a little more from the background. Finally I added some black enamel dots and that’s it!
Precious Peony Card
For my second card I used the Precious Peony set and stamped the large images various times with watermark ink onto a panel of black cardstock. I then heat embossed them with WOW Fool’s Gold embossing powder.
Especially when heat embossing on a dark background it’s important to use an anti-static powder tool so you won’t end up with embossing powder in places where you don’t want it!
Next, I die cut the Mega Love die twice; once from vellum and once from Burnished Rose Mirror Card. I adhered the vellum behind the other piece, slightly off-setting it to create a shadow effect. Finally, I adhered this to the heat embossed panel. This card is really quick and easy to make but looks very elegant and classy nonetheless!
Fun Together Layout
My third project for today is a layout for which I used one of the new String Art Dies. The minute I saw the String Art Heart die, I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it!
I knew I wanted to create a rainbow of hearts with matching stitching. And when I think of rainbow, I think of Paige Evans collections! I picked a few papers from her collections (mostly Horizon) and die cut the hearts.
The String Art Heart die only cuts the holes for the stichting, but it’s super easy to fussy cut around them to get the individual hearts.
You have lots of possibilities with the String Art dies! You could stitch from one hole to another across the heart, filling the whole shape with thread/floss, or you could stitch around it like I did.
I used a split stitch and coordinating colors of embroidery floss (I used all six strands) to stitch around each heart.
For the background I used the B-side of Paper 20 from Horizon. I felt like it added some interest but was still neutral enough so the hearts would really stand out! I also used some embellishments and alpha stickers from Truly Grateful to add my title and some more details.
I hope you enjoyed these projects and that you check out the new release! Thanks a lot for stopping by 🙂 Now hop on over to Therese to continue the blog hop.

Patty A EifertWow, it was so much fun to see how you used the tools in your personal craft supply collection to put your own spin on the new products! Your Grateful Heart floral is so beautifully colored, and the dimension added by the Candy Cane Stripe background die, and the elegance of the Tall Alpha letters compliment it perfectly. Using the showy Precious Peony stamp in the background to showcase the large die cut “love” sentiment was so elegant and effective. Your colorful scrapbook page is so cheerful–I really like how you used the bright watercolor print paper, and used the holes on the String Art heart in a completely different way to create the stitched edge.
Jean WRIGHTNOUR
Love the LOVE card; offset die cut, simple outline embossing but big impact!
