Girly & Elegant: Some Cards with the New [Fancy Pants] “Millie & June” Collection.

—- English text at the end of this blogpost —-

Pro Bogen kann man 6 Schleifen (also insg.

Was meint ihr?

Hey there! 🙂 As I’ve already promised on Instagram a few days ago, today I’m sharing my first projects that I’ve made with the pretty new “Millie & June” collection by Fancy Pants, which is now available at the Scrapbook Werkstatt shop.

As you might have noticed, I have grown really fond of making cards. I usually make at least 3-5 cards with the same collection/kit so that I end up with a pretty coordinating set of cards. This time, I made 4 of them (so far – I’m sure there will be more)

What I really, really love about this collection are the colours! I’ve always loved the combination of mint, peach, white and gold, and now these colours are accompanied by some hot pink and a navy blue and it looks fabulous! I don’t often use navy blue on my projects (especially not in this combination), so this was a welcome breath of fresh air. I also like that the collection pack already includes all of the 6 patterned papers (2 of each), plus 2 corrugated cardstocks (in mint & black), a golden paper, as well as the patterned puffy alphas and the puffy design stickers. That way you already get what you really need. I also got myself the paper bow set and I am completely in love with it (evidenced by the fact that 3 of the 4 cards shown here include one of those paper bows) – it’s my absolute favourite piece of the whole collection!

The paper bow set includes 5 sheets of pre-cut bows (6 bows of each design, so 30 bows in total) that come in 3 different sizes. You can see all the 3 sizes in the first and third photo (largest to smallest from left to right). I love that they are so easy to make! You don’t need a Silhouette or BigShot or any kind of machine but you still get the same look! Honestly, I’m really loving them – I might need to get a second package 😀

What do you think of the collection? Do you like the mix of feminine, girly colours & patterns with the more masculine touches of navy blue, black and gingham pattern?

I’ll show you some more projects with this collection in the next week or two, so stay tuned 🙂

What’s the Scoop? – [Hero Arts Summer 2016 Release] Blog Hop & Giveaway.

Hey there & welcome to the Hero Arts BlogHop to celebrate the launch of the Summer 2016 Catalogue!! You are probably coming from Julie’s blog and I hope you’ve already had lots of fun hopping! I’m really really excited to be a part of this bloghop and that I got to create with some of the great new products before they hit the stores 🙂

    Hero Arts Summer 2016

But enough from me 😉 For my blog hop project I used my favourite stamp set of the new release (the Color Layering Ice Cream set) – or maybe actually of all times!! I loved all of the Hero Arts color layering stamps and this one is no exception! When the stamps finally arrived, I immediately had to pull out all of my stamp pads  to play with the stamps and try all the colour combinations 😀

(I will share more projects with some of the other new products soon, so be sure to check back again)

    Hero Arts BlogHop Cards 1

What I especially love about this set is that there is a coordinating die! Cutting out all of those scoops by hand would be a quite time consuming (and probably not as neat), so it’s great to have the die to do that for you! I also used the Sweet Sprinkles Bold Prints cling stamp together with the pretty sparkle embossing powder to create a background. For two of the cards I also used the Sprinkles stencil with different pastel ink pads. I’m absolutely in love with all of the pastel ink pads and now I finally have a really good use for them – they are just perfect for ice cream! 🙂

Hero Arts BlogHop Cards 3Hero Arts BlogHop Cards 5

Unfortunately you can’t really see it in the photos (they really don’t do the colours justice) but the background with the cling stamp and the sparkle embossing powder is perfection because it has some kind of frosted ice look!

Besides some phrases, there are two different types of ice cream in this stamp set (normal scoops and soft ice) and you can even decorate your ice cream with sprinkles, chocolate chips and a cherry! I mean, how cute is that?!

Three Fresh Cards with [Gossamer Blue May Kits].

Woohoo, it’s that time again: reveal day at Gossamer Blue and let me tell you, the May kits are gorgeous! I looove all those fresh and bright colours. Here are some of my favourite bits from this month’s kits:

    Gossamer Blue May Favourites

I mean, look at those acrylic shapes! I am a sucker for acrylic shapes and these might be some of my all-time favourites, mostly because of the colours. Bright but kinda pastel-ish. And I know I say that almost every month, but the life pages cards are awesome! Apart from the vibrant colours (that are totally awesome), the words and phrases on them are geat. There is an “ughhh” one, another that says “oh sh*t” and more of that kind. It’s a nice change from the normale “best ever” kinda products in the scrapbooking world. Oh, and can we talk about that stamp set (especially the cactus) and those wood veneer pieces for a second? I mean, what’s not to love about those?

I didn’t get to play much with the kits (yet) because they arrived quite late this time and this weekend we moved to a new apartment (in another city) and I’ve been preparing this move for the past two weeks… So right now almost everything is still in boxes (except for some of my scrapbooking things – priorities, y’all! 😀 ) and it’s still quite chaotic. That’s also the reason for those not very good photos of my first project with the kits. When I finally had some time (and space) to photograph it, the lighting was already rather poor. But anyways, you gotta work with what you have, right?

I will try to get some better photos as soon as I can and also show you some more projects with those pretty May kits! In the meantime, you can check out all the goodness here. 🙂

[Gossamer Blue] March Kits Instagram Hop – A Set of Romantic Cards.

Hey there! 🙂 As you might have seen on Instagram yesterday, the Gossamer Blue design team had a little Instagram Hop going to show you lots of different projects that were made with the pretty Gossamer Blue March kits. (If you haven’t, you can start with my photo and then just click on the person that I’ve tagged in the photo, from there you’ll hop to the person they tagged and so on. Until you end up at my photo again 🙂 )

I shared a little sneak of three of the five cards that I’ve made with the kits in the IG hop and today I want to show you the whole set of five:

    Cards by ScatteredConfettiCards by ScatteredConfetti

I kept the cards quite simple (as I usually do) and used only papers from the 6×6″ Pink Paislee C’est La Vie paper pad. I absolutely love the soft, romantic and a bit (okay, maybe a lot) girly colour scheme – and those patterns are divine!

I paired the papers with some embellishments from the same collection but also mixed in some My Mind’s Eye “On Trend 2” and Crate Paper “Bloom” (the rubber sticker) embellishments. I think they work absolutely perfectly with the Pink Paislee papers! Those golden acrylic mirrored shapes from the On Trend 2 collection might be my absolute favourite thing about those cards!! Oh, and the fact that my Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays coordinate SO well with the cards. I mean, look at those colours – I’m having all the heart eyes for this colour scheme.

    Cards by ScatteredConfettiCards by ScatteredConfetti

I really can’t decide which of the cards is my favourite because I really like how they all look together as a set. So right now I’m still thinking about giving the whole set as a gift to someone so they could use them. I think it would be a pretty gift if I made a little box for them that goes with the colour scheme and style of the cards.. So we’ll see.

Have you ever gifted cards that you’ve made (in a set or as single cards) to someone for them to give them away, or also got some as a gift – did you like them? I’m still not sure if it’s something someone really would appreciate.

Hello Love: Three Easy-Peasy Cards with the [Gossamer Blue January Kits].

Just stopping by real quick to share three easy-peasy cards with you that I’ve made with the Gossamer Blue January kits – and you know what’s great about them? They are perfect for Valentine’s Day, too!

For the first one I just used different strips from the Heidi Swapp Washi Booklet that was in the January Main Add-On Kit, adhered them to the card and then just embellished it with two of those adorable golden hearts from the Crate Paper “Hello Love” collection and some Heidi Swapp stickers.

    Hello Love Cards by ScatteredConfetti

For the other two I decided to stick to the same “recipe”: I chose one black and white patterned paper and cut it down to fit the card. Then I splattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist over them (Primrose and Cherry on the left and Gold Lamé on the right), added a sentiment (from the Seven Paper “Goldie” collection), some glitter heart stickers and one “special” item.

On the left one I glued down the black and white baker’s twine from the Scrapbook Main kit writing “love”. For that I first wrote out the word with some liquid glue and then started putting down the twine from left to right. For the right card I used the geometric wood veneer heart (also from the Crate Paper “Hello Love” collection), backed it with different pieces of patterned paper and then glued it to the card, too.

    Hello Love Cards by ScatteredConfetti

Each of the cards took me about five to ten minutes maximum – I love me some easy cards! 🙂 (You can see more easy-peasy card ideas here, here, here, here and here).

What about you, do you like quick and easy or more intricate and embellished cards? Feel free to leave me a link to some of your cards, I’d love to see! 🙂
