Girly & Elegant: Some Cards with the New [Fancy Pants] “Millie & June” Collection.

—- English text at the end of this blogpost —-

Card Set by ScatteredConfettiCard Set by ScatteredConfetti

Pro Bogen kann man 6 Schleifen (also insg.

Was meint ihr?

Hey there! 🙂 As I’ve already promised on Instagram a few days ago, today I’m sharing my first projects that I’ve made with the pretty new “Millie & June” collection by Fancy Pants, which is now available at the Scrapbook Werkstatt shop.

As you might have noticed, I have grown really fond of making cards. I usually make at least 3-5 cards with the same collection/kit so that I end up with a pretty coordinating set of cards. This time, I made 4 of them (so far – I’m sure there will be more)

What I really, really love about this collection are the colours! I’ve always loved the combination of mint, peach, white and gold, and now these colours are accompanied by some hot pink and a navy blue and it looks fabulous! I don’t often use navy blue on my projects (especially not in this combination), so this was a welcome breath of fresh air. I also like that the collection pack already includes all of the 6 patterned papers (2 of each), plus 2 corrugated cardstocks (in mint & black), a golden paper, as well as the patterned puffy alphas and the puffy design stickers. That way you already get what you really need. I also got myself the paper bow set and I am completely in love with it (evidenced by the fact that 3 of the 4 cards shown here include one of those paper bows) – it’s my absolute favourite piece of the whole collection!

The paper bow set includes 5 sheets of pre-cut bows (6 bows of each design, so 30 bows in total) that come in 3 different sizes. You can see all the 3 sizes in the first and third photo (largest to smallest from left to right). I love that they are so easy to make! You don’t need a Silhouette or BigShot or any kind of machine but you still get the same look! Honestly, I’m really loving them – I might need to get a second package 😀

What do you think of the collection? Do you like the mix of feminine, girly colours & patterns with the more masculine touches of navy blue, black and gingham pattern?

I’ll show you some more projects with this collection in the next week or two, so stay tuned 🙂

What’s the Scoop? – [Hero Arts Summer 2016 Release] Blog Hop & Giveaway.

Hey there & welcome to the Hero Arts BlogHop to celebrate the launch of the Summer 2016 Catalogue!! You are probably coming from Julie’s blog and I hope you’ve already had lots of fun hopping! I’m really really excited to be a part of this bloghop and that I got to create with some of the great new products before they hit the stores 🙂

    Hero Arts Summer 2016

But enough from me 😉 For my blog hop project I used my favourite stamp set of the new release (the Color Layering Ice Cream set) – or maybe actually of all times!! I loved all of the Hero Arts color layering stamps and this one is no exception! When the stamps finally arrived, I immediately had to pull out all of my stamp pads  to play with the stamps and try all the colour combinations 😀

(I will share more projects with some of the other new products soon, so be sure to check back again)

    Hero Arts BlogHop Cards 1

What I especially love about this set is that there is a coordinating die! Cutting out all of those scoops by hand would be a quite time consuming (and probably not as neat), so it’s great to have the die to do that for you! I also used the Sweet Sprinkles Bold Prints cling stamp together with the pretty sparkle embossing powder to create a background. For two of the cards I also used the Sprinkles stencil with different pastel ink pads. I’m absolutely in love with all of the pastel ink pads and now I finally have a really good use for them – they are just perfect for ice cream! 🙂

Hero Arts BlogHop Cards 3Hero Arts BlogHop Cards 5

Unfortunately you can’t really see it in the photos (they really don’t do the colours justice) but the background with the cling stamp and the sparkle embossing powder is perfection because it has some kind of frosted ice look!

Besides some phrases, there are two different types of ice cream in this stamp set (normal scoops and soft ice) and you can even decorate your ice cream with sprinkles, chocolate chips and a cherry! I mean, how cute is that?!

Three Fresh Cards with [Gossamer Blue May Kits].

Woohoo, it’s that time again: reveal day at Gossamer Blue and let me tell you, the May kits are gorgeous! I looove all those fresh and bright colours. Here are some of my favourite bits from this month’s kits:

    Gossamer Blue May Favourites

I mean, look at those acrylic shapes! I am a sucker for acrylic shapes and these might be some of my all-time favourites, mostly because of the colours. Bright but kinda pastel-ish. And I know I say that almost every month, but the life pages cards are awesome! Apart from the vibrant colours (that are totally awesome), the words and phrases on them are geat. There is an “ughhh” one, another that says “oh sh*t” and more of that kind. It’s a nice change from the normale “best ever” kinda products in the scrapbooking world. Oh, and can we talk about that stamp set (especially the cactus) and those wood veneer pieces for a second? I mean, what’s not to love about those?

I didn’t get to play much with the kits (yet) because they arrived quite late this time and this weekend we moved to a new apartment (in another city) and I’ve been preparing this move for the past two weeks… So right now almost everything is still in boxes (except for some of my scrapbooking things – priorities, y’all! 😀 ) and it’s still quite chaotic. That’s also the reason for those not very good photos of my first project with the kits. When I finally had some time (and space) to photograph it, the lighting was already rather poor. But anyways, you gotta work with what you have, right?

I will try to get some better photos as soon as I can and also show you some more projects with those pretty May kits! In the meantime, you can check out all the goodness here. 🙂

[Gossamer Blue] March Kits Instagram Hop – A Set of Romantic Cards.

Hey there! 🙂 As you might have seen on Instagram yesterday, the Gossamer Blue design team had a little Instagram Hop going to show you lots of different projects that were made with the pretty Gossamer Blue March kits. (If you haven’t, you can start with my photo and then just click on the person that I’ve tagged in the photo, from there you’ll hop to the person they tagged and so on. Until you end up at my photo again 🙂 )

I shared a little sneak of three of the five cards that I’ve made with the kits in the IG hop and today I want to show you the whole set of five:

    Cards by ScatteredConfettiCards by ScatteredConfetti

I kept the cards quite simple (as I usually do) and used only papers from the 6×6″ Pink Paislee C’est La Vie paper pad. I absolutely love the soft, romantic and a bit (okay, maybe a lot) girly colour scheme – and those patterns are divine!

I paired the papers with some embellishments from the same collection but also mixed in some My Mind’s Eye “On Trend 2” and Crate Paper “Bloom” (the rubber sticker) embellishments. I think they work absolutely perfectly with the Pink Paislee papers! Those golden acrylic mirrored shapes from the On Trend 2 collection might be my absolute favourite thing about those cards!! Oh, and the fact that my Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays coordinate SO well with the cards. I mean, look at those colours – I’m having all the heart eyes for this colour scheme.

    Cards by ScatteredConfettiCards by ScatteredConfetti

I really can’t decide which of the cards is my favourite because I really like how they all look together as a set. So right now I’m still thinking about giving the whole set as a gift to someone so they could use them. I think it would be a pretty gift if I made a little box for them that goes with the colour scheme and style of the cards.. So we’ll see.

Have you ever gifted cards that you’ve made (in a set or as single cards) to someone for them to give them away, or also got some as a gift – did you like them? I’m still not sure if it’s something someone really would appreciate.

A Good Mix of “Shine” to Start the New Year: a Card, a Layout and a Mini-Album!

    Hey there!

I thought I would kick off the new year with some more “Shine” projects. The gray and rainy weather outside is kinda depressing so here’s a little bit of colour to brighten your day!

I made this layout for the monthly sketch challenge in the Scrapbook Werkstatt Sketch Section. The sketch this time came from the lovely Ulli. If you like, you can also try your hand at making a layout with this sketch (you can also do a 12×12″). If you do so, be sure to submit a link to your layout in the comment section here because then you have a chance to win a Scrapbook Werkstatt coupon!

Let it Shine with the New Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper Collection “Shine” – [A Layout & Seven Cards].

Hey there! 🙂 Are you enjoying the holiday time or are you already going slightly mad now that there are only 4 days left until Christmas? I’m still in denial that Christmas is so close because I don’t feel the holiday spirit at all. The temperatures and the weather feel more like fall or late summer at times.. And as much as I normally like the warmer, more Mediterranean temperatures, I prefer low temperatures and snow at Christmas time. But that isn’t going to happen this year.. Today we have 14°C (or 57°F) which is just surreal..
I’ve tried so many things to get into the holiday spirit (playing Christmas music, lighting candles, trimming the tree, putting up Christmas decoration, etc etc) but nothing has really worked so far.

Anyway, at least this means that the bright and colourful “Shine” collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper doesn’t seem out of place at all right now. Which is good, because in only two days I’ve made a layout, seven cards and two mini albums with it and I wanted to show you the first part of that today 🙂

Three Quick and Easy Cards with the Gossamer Blue [September Kits].

Woohoo, today finally is the day that I can show you the projects I’ve made with the Gossamer Blue September kits. And let me tell you something, they are gorgeous! (I mean, the kits. If my projects are gorgeous as well is up to you to decide 😉 )

I already shared my favourites from the kits on Instagram a while back (below is the picture, in case you missed it. And even if not, isn’t it pretty to look at? 😉 ) but to be honest, I could have shown you almost the complete kits because it was really difficult to pick just a few favourites!

Three Quick and Easy Cards with the Gossamer Blue [September Kits].

I think what I love most about them, are the colours. They are a great mix of still bright and summer-y (like the Pinkfresh Studio bits) but already mixed with some more subdued and pastel-ish tones (like the Crate Paper “Wonder” collection). I’m not 100% ready for autumn to come, so this is a good way of getting familiar with the idea of the new season approaching 😉

But now, without much more babbling, here are my September Kits projects:

This time, I got the Scrapbook Main kit, the Life Pages Main kit, the Life Pages Themed Add-On and the Bits & Pieces kit. I can’t really tell which one was my favourite because they all worked so well together. While I am normally more of a layout (and the occasional mini album) person, I have been drawn more and more to making cards in the past few months. This month I actually made three cards before I got to work on a layout..

They are quite simple but really cute nevertheless. For all of them I used papers from the 6×6″ Wonder paper pad from the Bits & Pieces kit as the main element. I like the way those three cards look together.

Bright Summer Cards & a Layout with the [Freckled Fawn] “Carnival” June Embellishment Kit.

Hey there 🙂 As I promised on IG yesterday (with this little sneak), today I have some very fun and bright projects for you that I’ve made with the Freckled Fawn June embellishment kit called “Carnival”.

Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.

As the name suggests, the kit is filled with cheerful bright colours and lots of fun little bits and pieces! My absolute favourite parts of the kit? The washi tape, the alphabet stamp set, the wood veneer pieces (look at those cute popsicles!) and the epoxy stickers! Although everything in the kit is really pretty!

As soon as I saw the alpha stamp set, I knew what I wanted to make with them. I wanted to create a background with some text and then colour in some of the letters with my Peerless watercolours! And that’s exactly what I did for one of those cards:

Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.

I really love how well the colours of the embellishments coordinate with that washi tape! Seriously, I haven’t been this in love with a washi tape for quite a while (the last one’s that really got my heart were the newest one’s by Lorabailora – the flamingos!). I like that it is a bit wider than the usual washi tapes and (lucky me) there is SO much on one single roll!

Besides those two cards, I also made a layout using the kit. This time I used the felt letters as a background for my photo. I attached all off the letters with liquid glue (tape runner doesn’t work here) and then stitched over a few of them for a nice effect. Here I used the alpha stamps to create my title . I am still not sure whether or not I should colour in (some or all of) the letters. I fear that when I do it, I’ll regret it and then I’d have to redo the whole thing 😀

And because this is a layout about ice cream, I made sure to use lots of ice cream embellishments as well 😉

Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.
Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.

The journaling on the layout reads “The day the Magnum Double Caramel and I were finally reunited.” – Here’s the background story: A few years ago Magnum had to special editions (Double Chocolate and Double Caramel). I have been absolutely obsessed with the Double Caramel version. Seirously, I loved it and was so so sad when it was discontinued!
It was last year when S. and I were on our Costa Brava trip when I discovered the two Magnum versions on different signs. It was clear that I had to hunt down my treasured Double Caramel, so it became my mission to find one! And it was much harder than expected. While almost every place that sold Magnum (and also had those two on their signs) had the Double Chocolate one in stock, none seemed to have the Double Caramel! I think I asked at 15-20 different places until I finally got MY Double Caramel Magnum! And it was JOYOUS 😀

So yeah, there’s that. 😉 Is there something similar for you, that you have tried/eaten/drunk/… once (or several times) and have since then tried to find it?

I absolutely love the gold foil trend in scrapbooking products and if it’s paired with pretty and simple designs (like this one), then I can’t resist!

Oh, and check out the other collections “Project Pink” and “Glam Factor” where gold decided to get together with a few of its other friends (because let’s be honest, gold is friends with everyone!).
