Bright Summer Cards & a Layout with the [Freckled Fawn] “Carnival” June Embellishment Kit.

Hey there 🙂 As I promised on IG yesterday (with this little sneak), today I have some very fun and bright projects for you that I’ve made with the Freckled Fawn June embellishment kit called “Carnival”.

Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.

As the name suggests, the kit is filled with cheerful bright colours and lots of fun little bits and pieces! My absolute favourite parts of the kit? The washi tape, the alphabet stamp set, the wood veneer pieces (look at those cute popsicles!) and the epoxy stickers! Although everything in the kit is really pretty!

As soon as I saw the alpha stamp set, I knew what I wanted to make with them. I wanted to create a background with some text and then colour in some of the letters with my Peerless watercolours! And that’s exactly what I did for one of those cards:

Cards & a layout with the Freckled Fawn June kit.

I really love how well the colours of the embellishments coordinate with that washi tape! Seriously, I haven’t been this in love with a washi tape for quite a while (the last one’s that really got my heart were the newest one’s by Lorabailora – the flamingos!). I like that it is a bit wider than the usual washi tapes and (lucky me) there is SO much on one single roll!

Besides those two cards, I also made a layout using the kit. This time I used the felt letters as a background for my photo. I attached all off the letters with liquid glue (tape runner doesn’t work here) and then stitched over a few of them for a nice effect. Here I used the alpha stamps to create my title . I am still not sure whether or not I should colour in (some or all of) the letters. I fear that when I do it, I’ll regret it and then I’d have to redo the whole thing 😀

And because this is a layout about ice cream, I made sure to use lots of ice cream embellishments as well 😉

The journaling on the layout reads “The day the Magnum Double Caramel and I were finally reunited.” – Here’s the background story: A few years ago Magnum had to special editions (Double Chocolate and Double Caramel). I have been absolutely obsessed with the Double Caramel version. Seirously, I loved it and was so so sad when it was discontinued!
It was last year when S. and I were on our Costa Brava trip when I discovered the two Magnum versions on different signs. It was clear that I had to hunt down my treasured Double Caramel, so it became my mission to find one! And it was much harder than expected. While almost every place that sold Magnum (and also had those two on their signs) had the Double Chocolate one in stock, none seemed to have the Double Caramel! I think I asked at 15-20 different places until I finally got MY Double Caramel Magnum! And it was JOYOUS 😀

So yeah, there’s that. 😉 Is there something similar for you, that you have tried/eaten/drunk/… once (or several times) and have since then tried to find it?

Three Layouts with the [SBW April Kit].

Like promised in this post, today I’m going to show you the three layouts that I made with the SBW April Kit.

I made all of the layouts in the size 8.5″x11″ because that allowed me to use the rest of the 12″x12″ cardstock as the basis for my cards. That way everything is used and (almost) nothing has to be thrown away! 🙂

But without further ado, here they are:

Das erste LO “Craft your he[art] out” habe ich genutzt, um meine neue kreative Leidenschaft zu dokumentieren, denn ich habe vor wenigen Wochen das Weben für mich entdeckt! 🙂

The first layout “Craft your he[art] out” was made to document my new crafty hobby/obsession: weaving! You might have already seen some of my weavings on Instagram (here, here, here und here 🙂 )

In this next layout I documented one of my/our favourite cafés in Barcelona – which is also the place where we had breakfast on the day of our engagement! Which was the 27th of March, 2014 – not 2013 like it says on the LO, oops 😀

This last layout came together bit by bit. I just wanted to include this photo with the pretty pieces from the Crate Paper “Confetti” collection and decided to use it to document some thoughts about S. birthday 🙂

    Donuts. [Serendipity Layout]

WARNING: Reading this post might cause an urgent craving for donuts!

As I promised yesterday, today I’m sharing a layout I made with the new Dear Lizzy collection “Serendipity” with you! This collection contains many colours that I normally won’t use very often in my projects (like navy blue, yellow and purple) and yet I kinda fell in love with it the minute I saw it!

It’s just a fun “random” collection that’s not aimed at one specific event or holiday – a nice collection for the everyday bits and pieces. Just like Donuts!! 😀

When I was looking through the photos I had printed for scrapbooking projects to find one I could use with this collection, I didn’t have to search very long. When I saw this one with the three colourful donuts with sprinkles on them, the decision was made! I mean, how could I not have chosen this photo when there are even donut stickers and ephemera bits in this collection?!

And then, when I found this “Top 5 Favourites” card, I almost couldn’t believe it. It was just like it was meant to be, since I had planned to document my most favourite donut flavours 😀

I also used some Freckled Fawn goodies, like the yellow doilie and the paper clip – they just fitted perfectly. Especially the doilie! Such a perfect colour for this layout, don’t you think?

Although this is not my usual colour scheme, it was quite a lot of fun to make this layout! I think the colours fit the candy and donut theme very well 😉

And now go get a donut and a cup of coffe and enjoy your Sunday! 🙂

The Best Time is Now. [Papierprojekt Mini Album]

Long time no see, right? Well this time of the year is, as probably for most of you, quite stressful and hectic. Although it should also be a time where we calm down, pause and take in all the impressions and feelings because this Christmas time is something special which passes so very quickly year after year.
I didn’t have much, if any time left for scrapping or doing anything creative in the past two weeks because of my job. Last week was the peek of all this stressfulness and work and now it’s finally getting a bit calmer and I have some time left to enjoy our Christmas tree, the Christmas market and also to work on some creative projects.

Since I got the beautiful Papierprojekt Kit from Felicitas I made two projects that I’ve already shown you and one that has been in the making for the whole time and isn’t finished even now.. But because I really wanted to show it to you and because I have no idea when I will have the time to finish it, I decided to take some photos of the half finished album and just show you 😉

Right now it’s just the basis of a Mini Album and only two or three photos, but once it’s done it is meant to be a collection of some of my favourite moments in 2014. Just random bits and pieces 🙂 I put all the photos of my mini album basis into little collages so I don’t have such a huge picture flood in this post but without leaving anything out 😉
(Click on the pictures to enlarge)

I made this little shaker bag similar to the tutorial I showed you a while back, only that this time I used the little clear plastic bag of some enamel dots to put in my wood veneer shapes and sequins. I just cut off the top of the bag and sewed it up. Easy as that! 🙂

I also made some little pockets on the back side of some pages to hold random photos or bits and pieces such as tickets/receipts… I just sewed a small strip of patterned paper onto the page. Simple and easy! And if you sew it on and don’t glue you won’t run the risk of putting your photos in and ruining them with some glue that might stick on the photo!

This shaker bag is actually the exact same one I made for the tutorial a few weeks ago. I like to make things like this in batches so I can reach for them when I’m working on a new project. 🙂

In this collage you can see one of those sewn pockets a bit closer 🙂 I like to add such details to hold as many photos and memories in a little album like this!

Now I hope that I will have the time (and energy 😉 ) to finish this album maybe before the next year begins.. Or at least somewhen in January. Because I know myself and if it will sit on my table unfinished for longer than that, the chance that it will actually be completed will decrease from week to week.. Nevertheless I like flipping through this little cutie quite a lot already! 🙂

    And here’s the full album:

Happy Heart. [An Open Book Layout]

Woohoo, finally: a layout again!! Last week I finally had some time to scrap for a while. The start was quite bumpy, it just didn’t seem to flow and I wasn’t satisfied with anything..

I’m still not 100% convinced by this layout, but I figured I will keep it like this so I can finally once again say that I finished another LO 😉

Until now I’ve always only had the Pschhiitt sprays by Kesi Art and never bought any Heidi Swapp or Mr. Hueys because I always thought they were too expensive and I’ve also heard quite bad things about the quality BUT when we had our Design Team meet-up about two weeks ago, I caved in and bought the gold Heidi Swapp spray. And you guys, I’m SO SO glad I did!
It just completely rocks my world and I can’t imagine living without it anymore (okay, that’s overly dramatic, but seriously, I love it!).

And together with a Freckled Fawn gold doilie it’s just perfection! A little gold never hurt anyone! 😀
Also, can I just say that I am obsessed with that flower patterned paper?! I only used a small strip of it for this LO and still I think it has such a huge impact!!

Tomorrow I’ll be back with a few sneaks of the projects I made with the Scrapbook Werkstatt December kit, so stay tuned! 🙂
