Finding Inspiration & Getting Un-Stuck [Scraplift Yourself].

Hey! 🙂 I just wanted to let y’all know that today I’m over on the Gossamer Blue blog sharing an idea for what you can do when you feel uninspired, stuck or in a rut in your scrapbooking.

When I received my March kits, I felt exactly that. So I thought about what I could do to get out of that rut and actually start creating again, and then I wrote a blogpost about it to maybe help some of you out there that might be in the same situation! If you would like to see how and what I chose as my basis and what the final result looks like, hop on over here – I’d love to know what you think about it. If you have ever scraplifted someone and maybe even yourself, too.

[Gossamer Blue] March Kits Instagram Hop – A Set of Romantic Cards.

Hey there! 🙂 As you might have seen on Instagram yesterday, the Gossamer Blue design team had a little Instagram Hop going to show you lots of different projects that were made with the pretty Gossamer Blue March kits. (If you haven’t, you can start with my photo and then just click on the person that I’ve tagged in the photo, from there you’ll hop to the person they tagged and so on. Until you end up at my photo again 🙂 )

I shared a little sneak of three of the five cards that I’ve made with the kits in the IG hop and today I want to show you the whole set of five:

    Cards by ScatteredConfettiCards by ScatteredConfetti

I kept the cards quite simple (as I usually do) and used only papers from the 6×6″ Pink Paislee C’est La Vie paper pad. I absolutely love the soft, romantic and a bit (okay, maybe a lot) girly colour scheme – and those patterns are divine!

I paired the papers with some embellishments from the same collection but also mixed in some My Mind’s Eye “On Trend 2” and Crate Paper “Bloom” (the rubber sticker) embellishments. I think they work absolutely perfectly with the Pink Paislee papers! Those golden acrylic mirrored shapes from the On Trend 2 collection might be my absolute favourite thing about those cards!! Oh, and the fact that my Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays coordinate SO well with the cards. I mean, look at those colours – I’m having all the heart eyes for this colour scheme.

    Cards by ScatteredConfettiCards by ScatteredConfetti

I really can’t decide which of the cards is my favourite because I really like how they all look together as a set. So right now I’m still thinking about giving the whole set as a gift to someone so they could use them. I think it would be a pretty gift if I made a little box for them that goes with the colour scheme and style of the cards.. So we’ll see.

Have you ever gifted cards that you’ve made (in a set or as single cards) to someone for them to give them away, or also got some as a gift – did you like them? I’m still not sure if it’s something someone really would appreciate.

Using Life Pages Cards on Layout with the Gossamer Blue [October Kits].

Ugh.. where has time gone?? It’s almost the middle of October and I just realised that I haven’t shared my projects with the Gossamer Blue October kits here on the blog yet… Life has been really really busy around here and time seems to be running. Especially now that I finally have the date for my final final exam (2. Staatsexamen) – Nov. 4th will be the big day!! But until then I still have to get quite a few things done.. unfortunately none of them involve patterned paper, enamel dots or wood veneer pieces 😀

However, as soon as I will have passed that exam and regained some energy, I will dive into my Gossamer Blue December Memories kit (which I picked up from customs yesterday – yayyy!). This will be the first time in I think three or four years that I will actually be able to enjoy the Christmas season! AND I will document it with that gorgeous kit (seriously, it really is chock full with beautiful products, most of them exclusively made for this kit!). AND it is the first time I’ll be doing a December Daily style album (although I probably won’t take a daily approach. But more on that later)

Can you tell I am a little bit excited for Christmas time? 😀

Anyway, back to the October kits. I really really loved the colours in the October kits: lots of gold (yayy!) and beautiful aqua/turquoise tones and some purple (although I actually don’t really like purple. But in combination with those colours it is gorgeous!). If you have a look at my October favourites, you’ll know what I mean:

So.. what you’d expect are some projects with exactly those colours, right? Wrong! 😀

    Feelin’ Fancy. [MME Layout]

I know, I know, Christmas is just around the corner and this layout doesn’t really fit in but given the very mild temperatures outside (yesterday it was 14°C, in the middle of December – I mean, seriously, that’s not winter at all!) and the lack of snow, I thought the contrast to this summery photo won’t be too big 😉

I’ve had this LO lying around for quite a while in the box where I collect all the finished ones (yeah..maybe getting an album wouldn’t be the worst idea…) as well as the photos on my harddrive, but somehow I seem to have forgotten about it. Until recently, when I showed this box to some friends who were visiting..

I really, really like the photo in this layout because 1) I love those shoes!, 2) I love that black romper with white polka dots, 3) I took it on the way to the Parc del Labirint on our last trip to Barcelona and everytime I look at it, all the feelings and memories come back: this park is where the Mister asked THE question (in March this year) and on our last trip we decided to revisit the place.
The day of our engagement was just perfect (I’m sure most brides-to-be say that, but I am definitely and categorically 100% sure that S. couldn’t have planned it any better!). Maybe I will share the story of our engagement here on the blog somewhen.. Maybe on the first anniversary 🙂

In only two weeks time we will be in BCN again and I am pretty sure we have started a new tradition of always visiting this park when we get to the city 🙂 I can’t wait to be back in Barcelona! You cannot imagine how much I love this city – I mean, I even have its skyline immortalised on my skin 😉

Do you have a special place in the world where you just cannot travel to often enough and that you find yourself missing as soon as you are back home?

    Totally Awesome. [SBW September Kit]

So as promised, I’m sharing a layout I’ve made with the Scrapbook Werkstatt September Kit with you today! And because they fit together so well (they are both 8.5″x11″, the colours are very light and bright and I’ve tried something new on both of them), I’ve decided that today I will show you not only one but two layouts! 🙂

The “something new” I’ve tried on the first layout is the not-layering. When you have a look at all of my layouts I’ve made so far, you’ll see that layering is always a part of it. On this layout I’ve tried to not do this (except the photo matting) and I have to say that I like the outcome!

And look at those colours, aren’t they absolutely gorgeous?! And they fit the photo just perfectly! Those roses that I got for no special reason from my fiancé had the most beautiful blush pink colour. And normally I don’t even like roses 😀

On the second layout it’s probably not very hard to guess what new thing I’ve tried to do here: The title stitching! I’ve seen a few layouts with those big stitched titles so far and really wanted to give it a try myself. And: I’ll do it again! 🙂

    Be You. [MME Layout]

Okay, so on Wednesday I drove to the Scrapbook Werkstatt warehouse to pick up my September kit and the DT material I get to scrap and (hopefully) inspire you! And, well.. the evening before I saw that in their online shop they had added some of the new collections I had been waiting for the whole time. So of course I had to do some more shopping when I was there!! (Hello new “Notes & Things” Crate Paper collection!).
You may have already seen my haul on my Instagram, if not go check it out. I’m sure you’ll have hearts in your eyes when you see it, ha!

But there’s a catch.. Because I had to finish the projects with the upcoming September kit first (to get them photographed etc. for the inspiration flyer that each customer gets with his kit), I didn’t have any time to play with the other new goodies
(But then I have something to look forward too when I return home 🙂 )

Well, besides my kit projects I managed to finish one layout with the gorgeous new My Mind’s Eye collection “Just Sayin'” (by Rhonna Farrer). And because I can’t show you the kit projects just now, I’ll show you this one 🙂

Sorry for the photo quality.. The lighting wasn’t perfect but I won’t have any time tomorrow, since we’ll be leaving for our Spain trip and I really wanted to show you this one.

I also added a bit hidden journaling, because it’s something I didn’t want everyone to see on first glance – I mean, that’s the idea of hidden journaling, right? 😀

Those sparkling gold elements on the patterned papers (which can also be found on the embellies, stickers etc.) are absoutely gorgeous, aren’t they?

Alright, now I’m almost off to Spain for almost 2 weeks (still need to do some packing….)! I have scheduled a few posts, but I won’t be able to blog very often since I’m not sure if I’ll have internet (and how fast it will be) and, well, because I’ll be on vacation!! 😀
