With the Christmas season and the time of gift giving (and with that, gift wrapping) fast approaching, I thought I would use the Maggie Holmes “Willow Lane”* collection to share some gift wrap ideas with you all.
The new gift wrap book that is part of the Willow Lane collection was just perfect for this endeavour, so I used it to make a quick and easy tutorial for two different kinds of gift bags. You can find the video tutorial for both of them at the end of this post.
For the box on the right and the yellow gift bag I used sheets from the gift wrap book, the envelope on the left with the beautiful gold foiling was made with a sheet from the 12×12 paper pad. The layered flowers I used for embellishing them were made with my Silhouette Portrait and different cutfiles from the Silhouette store (if you want to know the design IDs, let me know). And of course I had to add some sparkle and bling, so I used the sequin flowers on two of the gifts and some sparkly gold glitter hearts from the Thickers set.

I also made some really cute rolled flowers which I only used as decoration or photo props here, but they could easily be added to a gift. Or you could also make an altered project with them, like a photo frame or door wreath.
If you wanted to put a gift envelope in the mail, you can also keep the embellishing flat. The Flutter paper, for example, is perfect for cutting out the butterflies and adding them to your gifts. And you don’t even need to go without sparkle: the golden star trim is perfect for that!
And if you don’t have enough time to make a gift envelope yourself, the journaling ephemera contains really pretty pockets and envelopes that are perfect as they are. Or you could add some very simple touches, like the “Hooray!” word I added to the envelope insert with the gold foil Thickers.
I hope you enjoyed these gift wrap ideas! And if you want to see, how you can make a gift envelope and bag yourself, make sure to watch the video below. I hope I explained everything well enough, but if anything should be unclear, let me know in the comments below or over on Youtube! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by and see you again soon,
Kathleen
