What?! Two blog posts in a day? And both with two layouts?! Yep, you are seeing this right. Today I am also a guest over on The Cut Shoppe Blog, showing you two layouts I made with Ashley’s beautiful cut files.
Flower Power Cutfile
For my first layout I used the beautiful Flower Power cutfile and just backed it with papers from the Pinkfresh Studio Just a Little Lovely collection*. What I loved most about this background cutfile, is that you get it in 12×12 and 8.5×11! Since I only have a Silhouette Portrait, I often can’t use background cutfiles. So I was really excited about this option!
I only added a few embellishments from the same collection, as well as enamel dots to the centers of all of the flowers and then called it done. Well, after adding paint splatters, of course 😉
Open Letter Alpha Cutfile
For this next layout I used the Open Letter Alpha cutfile. But instead of backing the letters with patterned paper, I used some of my spray paints to create a mixed media background and laid the open letters on top of that.
For the letters I and U I kept the inside pieces and colored them with the same spray paints. I also substituted the O with a heart I made in the Silhouette software. That way I could spell out “I ♥ U”.
For some final touches I used a few pieces from the Just a Little Lovely collection and some Nuvo Drops. I really didn’t want to add much more so I wouldn’t cover up the beautiful colors or the cutfile pieces.
That’s it from me today! I hope you enjoyed these projects and they inspire you to get crafty. Make sure to check out The Cut Shoppe. Ashley has so many wonderful cutfiles (and there are some freebies, too 😉 )!
