Hey there! I’ve been in a sort of rainbow-mood lately (see the rainbow cards I made HERE)! So when I saw the B-side of the Jubilee paper* in the new Maggie Holmes/Crate Paper Sweet Story collection, I knew I had to use it!
Since I loved the look of just these stripes next to each other, I didn’t really want to change much about that. First, I cut an 8×10.5″ piece out of that patterned paper.
Next, I cut apart the different colored strips and started arranging them on my paper in the same order as they were before. To make room for my photo, I took out two of the strips and then machine stitched the others down with some white thread.
I love how that adds some texture but also dimension because it allows you to flip up the edges of the papers.
Selecting a Photo & Embellishments
I printed my photo in black and white to make it stand out in between all those colors and sized it so it would fit right between the yellow and mint green strips.
Since I really wanted the paper to be the star of the layout, I didn’t want to add too many embellishments. I only added some sequins and enamel dots from my stash in coordinating colors to some of the strips. As well as some phrase stickers from the Sunny Days collection – they just matched those colored paper strips perfectly!
Finally, I just had to add two of the Layered Butterflies! I am absolutely in love with them (they have gold glitter!!) and they also matched perfectly!
And that’s it from me today. I hope this layout inspires you to use the gorgeous Jubilee paper. Thanks for stopping by today! Xo, Kathleen
