Hey there! It’s time for yet another Birthday Blog Hop and today we are celebrating Pinkfresh Studio’s* 5th anniversary! I am very lucky to have been a part of Pinkfresh Studio’s journey for almost two years now and I am still in love with everything they come up with!
A Birthday, or celebration of any kind actually, calls for a card, doesn’t it? So that’s what I created for today! Two cards that you could give for (almost) any occasion. If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that I love cards to give just because. So I also like to create ones that could serve different purposes!
Happy Cards
And if you are like me, you often remember that you need a card just a few minutes before so you frantically search for something that would fit (no? just me?!). Well, today’s cards are really quick and easy to make but I think still very beautiful.
For both cards I used floral background stamps and white heat embossed them onto my white card base. I then used my watercolors to color the image.
On the first card I stuck with a very sunny and bright color scheme of yellow, red, orange, a little bit of purple and light mint for the leaves. Here I tried to stay in the lines because I wanted the flowers to be recognizable.
Unfortunately, the stamp set I used here isn’t available anymore, but when I was creating my projects for today, I completely forgot about that and used it because it is one of my all-time favorites. Sorry! But you could easily recreate the look with stamp sets like Fancy Blooms, for example!
On the other card I did an ombré look of purple to blue to mint green but here I colored the whole background. Since the stamped image of the Lined Floral Background is very intricate, it’s very difficult to color a specific flower
Both cards feature the same Happy stamp set from the Word Series. I heat embossed the main sentiment with gold embossing powder and then die cut it with the coordinating die. I used foam squares to pop up the sentiment and create a little bit of dimension on these otherwise one-layer cards.
For some final touches I added some sequins in different sizes to both cards and called them done. I don’t think they need much more. And I could still add a second smaller sentiment to the cards when I know what I will use them for exactly.
I hope you enjoyed these projects and maybe give them a try, too! Remember to leave a comment to be entered to win one of the many prizes Pinkfresh Studio is giving away! You can also find the full blog hop list below. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day! 🙂

Don’t worry about using an out-of-print stamp set. I like seeing people create with things that make them happy, because it makes me happy too. These are lovely, soft cards. Thanks for sharing them with us!

Lovely cards Kathleen! It’s too bad that first stamp set isn’t available as it really appeals to me. Your watercolouring is just how I like it, a bit loose. I also really like the Happy sentiment with the small florals & leaves. The Word series seems like something worth investing in. How generous of you to offer a $25.00 gift cert. also. Thanks!
