Hi there, today I’m back with a cute little DIY idea for you. I don’t know why, but I’m a little obsessed with cute gift boxes and I just had to make some with the Heritage collection!
Creating those three boxes didn’t take me more than maybe twenty minutes to half an hour. To create the base for each box I used a milk carton die from my stash, but you can use any die or cutfile that you have to make something similar. Or you could also use the gift box punch board if you have that.
For my boxes I chose patterned papers with some more subtle and neutral patterns because I wanted to embellish the boxes later on and this way the embellishments stand out.
Embellishing gift boxes with Heritage:
- cut out a banner from the Trophies specialty paper & adhere it to the box or wrap it around.
- create your own layered embellishments with the Heritage stamp and die set and adhere a prize ribbon to a gift box. use foam adhesive between the different layers for more dimension.
- stamp and die cut the bow frame from the stamp and die set and add a message either by stamping or handwriting. here you could add also the name of the recipient.
- add a little piece of ribbon with a small clothespin to the top of the gift box. I used the gold star trim from the Willow Lane collection.
- tie some baker’s twine around your gift box.
- use stickers or ephemera pieces to dress up the gift boxes.
There’s really no limit for how you can embellish your gift boxes and I hope this post inspired you to try it out and create some! Thanks a lot for stopping by today! Xo, Kathleen
